welcome to lakeside cottages

Sharon and Mark

Welcome to Lakeside Cottages. We are Sharon & Mark, two entrepreneurs and triathletes first captivated by Muskoka over 30 years ago.

We are passionate about sharing this experience with others through our collection of boutique Muskoka properties.

Every cottage is well-appointed inside and out to comfortably accommodate eight guests. They are equipped with a host of amenities including a chef’s kitchen with high-end stainless steel appliances, BBQ, indoor fireplace, outdoor fire pit, reliable internet, air conditioning, washer and dryer.

There are numerous places to relax in the outdoor furnishings from the deck to the dock, and all cottages are well-stocked with puzzles, books, indoor/outdoor games, and a variety of personal watercraft.

All our properties have been professionally landscaped by award-winning Toronto design firm Fiona’s Garden Gate. Each is equipped with irrigation and is maintained year-round by an experienced landscape crew.

What makes us different

what makes us different

When booking with Lakeside Cottages, you’re not just dealing with a rental agency: you’re dealing directly with the cottage owner. We know each of our properties inside and out because we own them personally. So there’s no middle-man and no additional booking fee to a third-party provider. This gives us the ability to respond more quickly and the discretion to accommodate special requests where possible.

explore, support, preserve muskoka

Lakeside Cottages is committed to giving back to our community.

We would not exist if not for the natural beauty and dedicated residents of Muskoka. For this reason we donate $100 from each weekly rental to two local charities:

Gravenhurst Against Poverty

GAP is a community-based charity helping those in difficulty. Their current focus is on providing fresh food, transportation and mental health support. Each week, they provide a free meal program and a free food giveaway for anyone struggling to obtain an adequate food supply.

Muskoka Nature Conservancy

Protects more than 40 properties throughout Muskoka. These nature reserves and conservation easements consist of land, wetlands and/or shoreline and are vital to preserving Muskoka’s watershed. Some properties have hiking trails open for public access, and all are accessible by expert guided hikes known as Nature Quests.
