Ruby Cottage

Our family just returned from a wonderful holiday at Ruby, a truly spectacular home in every way. It is a beautifully decorated home, filled with wonderful local art, furniture that is art itself, and fascinating table books . It is evident the care that was taken to make Ruby not only a gorgeous space, but a very interesting and unique home. I particularly enjoyed my morning coffee on the master bedroom deck overlooking lake Muskoka and the soaker tub every evening. The vintage Heintzman piano, with its incredible tone, was a huge treat. We all enjoyed our family time, playing pool and ping pong, and chilling in the great room around the fireplace . Ruby is a large home, and everyone was able to gather, but we were also able to easily spread out and find our own space, whether on the dock, on the hammock, in the beautifully landscaped garden or in the many indoor and outdoor spaces. Sharon and Mark have truly thought of everything. There was nothing that we needed or wanted, that we didn’t find at hand. Sharon was lovely to deal with and very responsive, not only to our various inquiries about our stay at Ruby, but also to our requests for advice for shopping and services in Gravenhurst. Ruby is a very special place, we had a great holiday, and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

It’s not a cottage, it’s a five star hotel – a home away from home! We are going through a reno soon at our home; Amber is exactly how we want ours to look and feel. It really exceeded our expectations and we would like to come back! ♥♥♥♥♥ are better than five stars!

The cottage was spacious, modern, beautifully decorated and had amazing lake views from almost every room. It had everything we needed and more. We will definitely be back!

This is our third time at Lakeside Cottages. We loved our family stay at Amber, Sapphire and Topaz. The cottages have stunning views and are beautifully decorated, spotless and have everything you need. Thank you Sharon and Mark for the great experience!

Without fail, every morning as you wake up and set foot in the kitchen the view will take your breath away. All of Muskoka's beauty is on display: we were spoiled with something to look at in every direction.

A beautiful view all day, best enjoyed by stepping out the door onto a massive piece of granite that extends from the cottage to the water. It's the perfect way to enjoy picturesque Muskoka while also admiring the natural beauty of the Canadian Shield.

From the moment you walk into Amber you feel relaxed and happy. It is a high-end cottage and it shows! Amber is brand new, beautifully decorated and very well-appointed. The main living space is filled with sunlight, boasts beautiful vistas of the lake and has plenty of space for everyone to enjoy and relax. There is a lot of beautiful art from local artists displayed throughout the cottage which makes the place even more special. Sharon (the owner) was beyond helpful, very responsive and so easy to deal with. Without hesitation, I highly recommend this property – you will not want to leave this heavenly spot. Pure paradise! We made great family memories at Amber and hope to be back in the near future.

What a fabulous March break we had at Amber Cottage! The only problem is that I can't imagine any other rental ever living up to this awesome experience! It was like living in a perfectly appointed model home but with every little thing you could ever need included. The Chamberlain Trail, a 5-min walk away, was such a bonus for off-leash dog walks. I will miss the sunshine bathing in the afternoons in the living room. And yoga in the sunshine in the master bedroom overlooking the lake. Bring your ice skates. Snow shoes are provided. The gym was such a bonus! It was like staying at a friend's place - friends who are amazing, caring, exceptionally clean and generous hosts! Thank you Sharon and Mark!
